First post of 2017 – sorry!

Well it’s been a while and theres no excuse for it! So let’s bypass the apologies and get stuck into an amazing artist that I had the pleasure of meeting.

Top Drawer 2017 was held in London Olympia and it’s a trade show that is filled to the brim with beautiful products and talented artists. I had a blast working there and that’s where I met Poppy Ward.

Poppy is the founder and creative director of P.Westwell. This “studio is dedicated to fine British design and draws inspiration from Asia’s culture and environment”.

I was wandering around the show and was immediately drawn to her stand which was filled to the brim with luxurious gem stone colours and large painted botanical leaves. Her products include fabrics, art pieces, fabric and soon to be wallpaper.

Poppy’s work is solely inspired by her trips to Malaysia when she was younger and the essence of that culture shines through the work perfectly. Take a look at her work here, I think it’s absolutely beautiful!

Thanks for reading and I promise I’ll see you soon 🙂

Homeware Design – Schion

There’s no place like home. There’s also no place like a beach in the Maldives but that’s a different story. Making a house a home is a comforting thing especially when there’s companies like Scion who make it look so easy and damn right beautiful.

Papergang – September Subscription

dsc_2248

Alright stationery lovers it’s that time again – Papergang time. I think you’re gonna love September’s box because it’s got a helluva lot of goodies. First and foremost the packaging is blue dip dye so I was instantly excited when it arrived in the post. So let’s get stuck in! ( I apologise for my repetitive images and my new succulent plant – I got over excited)

I fell in love straight away with the weekly planner. I’ll be honest I’ve fallen off the wagon when it comes to planning and actually using my diary – it all starts off well with good intentions but slowly disintegrates. BUT this beautiful little gem is exactly what I was after. A plain undated diary with just enough space for writing what needs done and space at the side for appointments etc. It’s simple, effective and even has a zip-lock at the back to store stuff in.

The gift wrap paper is designed by British Illustrator Jessica Willan. Its features fun colourful animals complete with celebratory hats. I think it’s a bit quirky and will be doing a post all about Jessica and her other works in a couple days. To complete the box is a little post it pad with “let’s get this sh*t done!” humorous and useful – just wish I worked in an office to properly use it, ah well life goes on.

Gifts – Magpie

magpie6

There’s so much about being British that is pretty great – drinking tea, beautiful landscapes and a vast array of wildlife but none so great as our high street shopping. So it’s no surprise that there are some incredible gift suppliers out there and I so happened to find a gem – magpieline.co.uk

Interiors – Marks & Spencer

botanic2

Every so often I like to have a little wander around home-ware stores and dream of one day having a big mansion with lots of beautiful things and stunning furniture. But I am pretty sure that isn’t going to happen so I take pictures, ogle at the patterns and perhaps write a blog post.
