Inspirational Art – Bunnie Reiss

What I love about art, design and general pretty stuff is how passionate people can be when creating such inspirational pieces. When you can see someone enjoying themselves it oozes from their work and that’s definitely what I see in Bunnie (Bonnie) Reiss.

Beautiful Barcelona

I’ve just come home from a wonderful little family holiday to Spain. Whilst we were situated in a bog standard resort in Salou we decided to have a day trip to Barcelona. It took about an hour and a half to get there but it was worth every minute. I fell in love with this city – the culture, the hussle and bussle, the food, but most of all the art.

Island Life Inspiration

I always seem to gravitate to the West Coast of Scotland mostly because I’ve not seen much of it but the sheer beauty of the landscapes really sways it. So this time I had a long weekend on the Isle of Mull, I explored the little seaside town of Oban full of gift and craft shops then jumped on the ferry to do some fishing, climb some hills and eat the biggest seafood platter I’ve ever seen in Tobermory.

Scotland – Holiday Patterns

A couple weeks ago I was treated to a wee holiday to the West coast of Scotland to jump aboard the Jacobite Rail Train (that’s the same one they used in the Harry Potter films) and go soak up the fresh Scottish air. We packed up the car and travelled through the Loch Lomond National Park, Fort William, across to Mallaig then down to Crianlarich and finishing in Glasgow. Although the weather did not behave I had a fantastic time seeing all the beautiful rolling hills, vast rippling lochs and some lovely grey skies.

So I went on the hunt for some Scottish artists and came across the talented Tanya Paget who works under the name Albaquirky, which I think is an incredibly clever name. I couldn’t find out much about her except she is a graduate of the Make it in Design School, has partnered up with Collect Scotland and is part of the collective Finch & Foxglove.

Albaquirky’s design are fluid, fun and vividly captivating. It strives itself in being an individual style that celebrates uniqueness and you can see from the designs that love and passion have went into the design process.

Take a look at her work here.

I do love my home land as I have already posted about it here and you’ve got to love some highland cows – adorable!
