A snippet of Paris Fashion Week

The last couple of posts were on London Fashion Week so I thought I would continue the theme with this one and show you some Paris Fashion Week goodies that I found. It finished on Tuesday so I am a tad late but it’s a lot of fashion to look at and these two designers are the ones that caught my eye the most.

First up is probably on of the best known British designers in history – Alexander McQueen. Sarah Burton, who famously designed Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, is the creative director of the brand and these are from the Autumn/Winter 17 Collection.

“The collection is inspired by pagan landscapes, creative communities and ancient traditions of Cornwall particularly the โ€œCloutieโ€ Trees. These spiritual trees are places of pilgrimage, their branches and twigs adorned with colourful ribbons and personal treasures representing the hopes and dreams of those who tied them.” –ย alexandermcqueen.cn

Next up is Valentino. Headquarters are in Milan and the creative director isย Pier Paolo Piccioli. This brand was originated in 1960 by Valentinoo Garavani and has had huge success including a star appearance in the hit The Devil Wears Prada. These images are from their Autumn/Winter 17 collection.

โ€œtime is elastic matterโ€ โ€“ so here Pierpaolo took the opportunity to ricochet between decades, from 1980 all the way back to 1800-and-something in a frisson of ruffles and raised necklines, delicate empire line gowns, intricately embellished, sheer creations, cut like nighties.” – 10magazine.com
